How to Hang Art — A Quick Guide
The general rule is art about two thirds the width of the furniture below it, hung with the center about 57 to 60 inches from the floor. Above a sofa or mantel, leave roughly 6 to 8 inches between the furniture and the bottom of the frame. In a hallway, hang the center a touch higher — around 60 inches — so pieces read at standing eye level.
